As a former “drama queen” and lover of musical theater, I play many roles in life including wife, mom, friend, music teacher, photographer, and writer. My most favorite role is “God’s cheerleader”…yes, it’s a made up term and I adopted this role myself. This is what I do best: make stuff up while telling the TRUTH, as I know it. In all the roles I play my focus is on being a LIGHT that points to the HOPE I have in Jesus and how He has literally, in every way, RESCUED me. And I get such a kick out of getting others fired up about WHO God is and how much LOVE He wants to give YOU, right where you are. What I want more than anything is for everyone I know to have this same HOPE for yourself.

The most important thing I want you to know though is that no matter what has been done to you, or what you’ve done, or who you have decided to be or not be, or whether you believe in all the stuff you might have heard from “church people” or have decided that church is not for you, God SEES you where you are, He hears your HEART, and He has CHOSEN you to be in His family. You are WANTED, included, and you BELONG. I don’t care what anyone else has told you, God’s word is TRUTH and He is FOR you whether you have ever walked into a church building or not.

Here on my site, I share thoughts on Biblical scripture, what God is doing in my life and how that intersects with the issues I care about most like raising up kids, public education, foster kids, adoption, mental health, healing from co-dependency, and overcoming sexual abuse. I talk about hard things here, and I also share JOY. No matter what I write about it is my goal to continually follow hard after Jesus in pursuit of my calling to encourage and lift up those looking for HOPE. Loss, pain, and facing hard things matters to God. He is the One I seek to point to in all things, whether in the valley, lost in the wilderness, hiding in the shadows, adrift offshore, alone in the dark, or knocking down walls. This is a place to hopefully find that you are not alone, you are loved, and you were created ON purpose FOR a purpose.
